The 15th West and East China Fair for Cooperation, Investment and Trade was held in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, on April 6, 2011. During the event, COFCO exhibited the variety of its products including Fortune rice and oil, Great Wall wine, Le Conte chocolate, Cereal Way instant noodle and Jojok meat products, only to name a few of the over 1,000, and introduced the theme of “Industry Chain, Good Quality and Safe Products, For A Better Life”.
Mr. Dong Zhongxin, Vice President, elaborated on the food safety issue. As he said, human lives on food, so the safety of food comes first. The purpose of COFCO adopting the whole industry chain control concept was making sure of food safety for the people from the very beginning of the industry chain so as to better control the whole course as well as it can. COFCO expected that more similar events could be held to rebuild consumers’ confidence in China’s food industry and let them get an expertise of healthy and safe food.
In addition, COFCO launched a promotion campaign simultaneously in 25 cities. Consumers could visit COFCO’s production bases to see by themselves how COFCO controls the industry chain.
